Spotted this relic this morning, in beautiful original green:

Probably dates from when the road opened?
Cheers

You have to wonder why they felt the need to abbreviate Loughborough?jonnyf90 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 24, 2021 16:00 Spotted this relic this morning, in beautiful original green:

It seems to be on virtually every sign regardless of size.SouthWest Philip wrote: ↑Wed Mar 24, 2021 19:06You have to wonder why they felt the need to abbreviate Loughborough?jonnyf90 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 24, 2021 16:00 Spotted this relic this morning, in beautiful original green:

Good find. there must be a few of these still knocking around on these rural back roads.Kevin Roads wrote: ↑Thu Apr 01, 2021 19:54 Saw this old-stylee bends sign today https://maps.app.goo.gl/AvBvM29H3MtbpEHx8

Thanks, Rambo, it was quite unexpected and I smiled when I saw it. I'll hopefully be venturing further afield to mid-Wales and the like over the next few weeks so I'll keep my eyes peeled and post any finds here.

My first thought was "Why is 'A1' aligned to the right?" before I saw the rest of the numbers!James1978 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 03, 2021 20:06 https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@54.47679 ... authuser=0

...and another with a thin dark-blue border. This is properly manky with, curiously, the 'd' patched on both sides

A couple of classics there Kevin. I've passed them several times over the years but not pre 2019 when i started capturing these properly.Kevin Roads wrote: ↑Thu Apr 08, 2021 17:48 ...and another with a thin dark-blue border. This is properly manky with, curiously, the 'd' patched on both sides

Re: Manky Signs
Continuing the west Yorkshire theme. A very over sized sign facing the entrance to the Yorkshire Mining museum along the A642.

Re: Manky Signs
I spotted these two while walking around Accrington the other day. Shame the one way sign is missing the sign face, otherwise it'd be a nice retro example of an internally illuminated sign.

That free car park sign looks like it used to have a thick blue border.
A couple of north Merseyside captures.
