Although quite numerous at one time these public telephone signs are slowly disappearing. Noticed this one with a slightly thicker border than usual which could indicate it's age.

For anyone who fancies a flutter https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Original-Bri ... SwfWtf~E~T
Shame it's just a generic one without the station name on it.

I noticed there are a pair of blue bordered pedestrian signs relevant to Exchange Station on eBay, one cover-plated to read 'Moorfields' and one interestingly with the pedestrian symbol included within the blue border at the chevron end. Given it's at the end of the road, I was intrigued, but the price on either was far too high to justify!

I'd have been interested to see those.

I was considering chucking a few quid their way for this if it didn't receive much interest but it's already at £51! good for them !

What is bloody annoying is that signs like this are often bought at auction houses to be sold on at a more "retail" price...

This lot sold for £90 plus fees

These fetched £120

The two on there look like the same ones! I also managed to get a screen grab of the more unusual one.

We've discussed this type of thing regarding traffic signal equipment previously, and also the way it's 'modified' to run on 'domestic electricity' and the likes

My favourites are the 1980s LED nearside indicators!

Just shows that it isn't just PWB signs that have some value. Some crackers there. Finding blue borders with the station name is quite rare these days rather than just the generic 'station'.

Along the A414 is/was a Payphone sign. https://goo.gl/maps/Zg4kqquFLH2YY1gs7

The Payphone itself https://goo.gl/maps/aAmwZgw55GZvfHbA6 The sign on the left is unusual in that there are plenty of signs stating The Rodings but The Ongars is rare.

Interesting that it's a new sign with 'Payphone' instead of 'Public Telephone'. But for an old red box !

Apparently a window cleaning firm in North Manchester is going through a slack period due to the horrible weather here, and they've taken on cleaning up the some of the road signs in the area.

I think it says "DANGEROUS WHEN FLOODED". Looks like it's just an unofficial addition to the sign - the lettering isn't PW.

Trying this again, I think I've managed to make the links work.

If it does work as intended then I'll post some more.

https://maps.app.goo.gl/NFY9629QHAd5QYTR8 There is another one at the other side of the junction.

I think my previous post worked so I'll have a go with this https://maps.app.goo.gl/k7LbyYKt7hn6WtPy8 which is at the other end of the same road posted above. There is a pair of these, the other being, unsurprisingly, at the top of the hill.

Ive noticed loads recently - well, since reading SABRE - so will try and get some more up. Let me know if they've been on before or if it's getting boring (unthinkable, shurely?).
