Traffic light Install standards

Post by Bendo »

Is it my imagination or are new installations just thrown in these days with little consideration, the lights on Tarbock Island roundabout M62 J6 have just been replaced in the last month or so and the whole thing looks like a dogs dinner.

The poles don't seem to have been sunk sufficiently far on most of them have so have tapers visible (I assume they should be down all the way to where the pole tapers in?).

The really old sets that were replaced had long lense covers on so you couldn't see the arms for the conflicting movement but no such consideration on the new ones.

I think the lights have been fitted with passively safe poles

Certainly the new ones on the A89 in west lothian are all as you described.

Do they look like THIS?
