Re: old UK striped black and white posts
I suspect it had a warning sign on it originally. That's the Eastlink in Dublin isn't it?

I don’t know
I’ve visited these Roads; A11(2019) A14(2019)M11(2012, 2013 and 2019) and M3(2015, 2017 and 2018)
Re: old UK striped black and white posts
It's not considered a good thing to resurrect dead post threads without having something to add to them.
PS. I've got a ZX Spectrum with 48k.
Re: old UK striped black and white posts
Since when did that stop Sabristi/members of this forum?? In fact, this place is quite notorious in bumping really old threads - as far as I’m concerned.
Quite often I end up clicking on a piece about this road, or that road...
Only to find I’ve clicked on page 1, and we're talking about the first proposals from 2004. It wasn’t that long after the New Deal for Roads, otherwise we’d still be talking about that!!
Re: old UK striped black and white posts
Yes, but you do usually have something more to add than "I don't know" and a huge signature.

*ahem*
Yes, SABRE is a little unusual in thoroughly approving of bumping old threads when the poster has something new to add to the discussion.
Not so fond of metadiscussion (discussion about discussion), though!

Sorry to revive a slightly old thread.
Saw these stripey poles, complete with blue bordered signs (must be 1970s?) bear Bletchley at the weekend.
(The entire road has them, both sides for about 1/2 mile)
Don't they look fantastic?

Well, to quote Arthur Atkinson, "How queer!". It's not in any sense a private road, is it? As we've often seen almost anything can happen on private roads, from old "STOP" signs (usually MoD sites) to the ridiculous MOTO signage at their service areas.IrishCrusader wrote: ↑Mon Nov 19, 2018 12:33 Sorry to revive a slightly old thread.

Is a through route as far as I can see, although a C or D or U road as OS doesn't have a B road assigned to it.Chris Bertram wrote: ↑Mon Nov 19, 2018 12:38Well, to quote Arthur Atkinson, "How queer!". Only took it to get back on the A4146 on Saturday afternoon after a trip to IKEA and road closures.

Looks remarkably like a new town special. The cycle infrastructure is rather overgrown and not all that attractive despite the massive signs.IrishCrusader wrote: ↑Mon Nov 19, 2018 12:45Is a through route as far as I can see, although a C or D or U road as OS doesn't have a B road assigned to it.Chris Bertram wrote: ↑Mon Nov 19, 2018 12:38Well, to quote Arthur Atkinson, "How queer!".
