RDX signs around A75

Post by wallmeerkat »

Drove the A75 a couple of weeks ago, including a couple of turn offs (Castle Douglas and Dumfries). There seemed to be quite a few temporary signs with codes on them with "RDX".

Doing a bit of research (ie. google), it seems it is for a gas pipeline, and RDX relates to where a pipeline will cross a road.

The pipeline route is shown on Figure 1.2 of Section 1. Road crossings are marked as
‘RDX’, rivers as ‘RVX’, and watercourses as ‘WX’.
