Triple triangles
Finding two warning signs mounted one above the other is pretty commonplace, but are there any other examples of what I'm going to call a triple triangle?
With its Z-bend sign and ratio steep hill sign, this one is a bit of a nostalgia-fest now!

Re: Triple triangles
You are advised to not really use more than two per post, but I think this is the only example of a tessellating traffic sign.

Patience is not a virtue - it's a concept invented by the dozy beggars who are unable to think quickly enough.

It also makes you think there's a give way coming up as well!Conekicker wrote: ↑Tue Feb 25, 2020 12:48That's... awful. Built for comfort, not speed.
Re: Triple triangles
Sometimes awfulness like this should be preserved in a museum. "Look what someone thought was good!"Conekicker wrote: ↑Tue Feb 25, 2020 12:48That's... awful. Re: Triple triangles
oh wow, clicked on it expecting three individual signs stacked.
That triangle of triangles therefore was a delight!
Bet the designer fantasised about finding a location to do this and include a "Give Way"

Re: Triple triangles
Well, at least people will notice the odd sign and might actually use the information provided on it.
Here's some locations of the triple stack, which is fairly common place, although the TSM states that "Generally, not more than two signs should be mounted on one post", excluding supplementary signs. And that " Exceptionally, three signs may be mounted on one post provided none requires a supplementary plate".
* https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@51.14182 ... 312!8i6656 (plus a speed repeater)
* https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@50.92027 ... 312!8i6656 (in a completely non-standard layout)

Re: Triple triangles
These aren't all triangles, but there are four signs on one post.

Someone needs to drive into the post so it can be replaced.PhilC wrote: ↑Mon Mar 02, 2020 14:09 These aren't all triangles, but there are four signs on one post.

So a height restriction which is less than the warning on the bridge.
Pedestrians in road ahead warning sign paired with "BEWARE Pedestrians Crossing". Why not use a Pedestrian Crossing Ahead sign, or more appropriately a ! warning sign, as the speed limit (and therefore 85% percentile speed) is higher than 35mph.

Re: Triple triangles
Station Road Kintbury, all quite important signs, on top of the other and not overly visible

Re: Triple triangles
Here is one in Haslemere leading up to a cross-roads with railway bridges crossing each of the three roads radiating from the junction, each with a different clearance.

Re: Triple triangles
Having followed a route in a link that jervi posted elsewhere, I've just noticed this fairly plain example, in the wrong order.

Re: Triple triangles
Talking about orders, I'd do this in a different order.

Although all three warning signs apply to the same actual location ("narrow" level crossing with no pavement), I'd put the gated level crossing warning sign with the road narrows warning sign on the same post. Then followed by a pedestrians in footway along with its supplement plate on another post closer to the crossing. Same in the other direction.

Re: Triple triangles
There is a real feast of Irish warning signs in Ashtown, including three on the same post. I think there are six different warning graphics overall.
I have websites about: motorway services | Fareham
