I saw it in the morning but I think it's rather expensive. I used the uploaded version on Google books. I edited it, had it printed out in colour and bound. It was much cheaper. But in the end, everyone has to know for themselves how much they are willing to pay, especially since the copy offered on eBay is defective and the pages are loose.

Hey Pierre - how did you manage to get the file from Google Books? I can nevr get anything except extracts! Do you have the file electronically? :) :)

I can’t really express this another way, but my personal belief is that the Pre-Worboys signage is more “international” than the Worboys signage. By which I mean, the pictograms seem to follow the American/Australian/Irish format.

And you have more verbose, wordy signage. Like the “max speed limit” signs, or the “bends for 2 miles”. Or “Halt, major road ahead”. Also, more of the urban signage, for dual carriageways and so on.

Worboys made everything a lot more visual, and uniquely British.

Admittedly a bit of a long shot, but does anyone have a copy (PDF?) of The Traffic Signs (Size, Colour and Type) Regulations 1950, S.I. 1950/953 please?

Edit - and a couple of days later I've found one online. A bit incomplete, the pages showing the lettering are illegible, but otherwise OK. I suspect the lettering is the same as that in the '57 one, so not a big problem.
