Longest exceptions?

Post by SteelCamel »

Spotted this sign the other day (and its twin at the other end of the road). Is this the longest list of exceptions anywhere?
It's signed as no goods vehicles over 7.5 tonnes, except for access, except for traffic under police escort, and except for vehicles over 14ft.

The first is pretty standard, and the last one makes sense as there's a low bridge preventing access to the A9 for high vehicles so they need to go this way. But does traffic under police escort even need an exception? I thought the police had authority to override traffic signs anyway. I'd also be surprised if anything went that way under escort that wasn't covered by one of the other exceptions, otherwise it would go via the A9.

This sign says no vehicles:

"Except taxis, loading & blue badge holders in marked bays Mon-Sat 6am-6pm and permit holders Mon-Sat 6am-10am & 4pm-6pm and taxis Mon-Thurs 6pm-6am"
