Covid vaccination centre signs

Post by Conekicker »

I note DfT has produced welcome guidance on signing for the above type of facility.

https://www.theihe.org/wp-content/uploa ... -signs.pdf

Unfortunately the guidance omits S13 GD16, which imposes a 6 month time limit for the sign to be in place. After which the SoS, (or appropriate Welsh/Scottish minister), needs to approve the sign. Not that anyone will object to the signs being there of course, but producing an authorisation now would be sensible, given that the vaccination programme stretching into the autumn is being talked about.

Also missing from the example signs is the S13-9-12 option for the map type symbol, see PDF file attached.

Equally unfortunate though, unless the legal position has changed, the authorisation needs to be done on an authority specific basis.

Are there any examples of this out in the field yet?

I guess we'll all find out over the coming weeks and months :D

Although some are making the usual amount of effort for TTM signing

Although the DfT PDF shows yellow background signs, any of the four colour combinations shown on the attached would be lawful.

On motorways I’d go with the white on blue.

Primary A roads should have black on white.

And local roads closer to the center should then switch to black on yellow.

Except the guidance calls for consistency, hence why they've gone for yellow I suspect.
