Not too sure if anywhere in the country currently has a TRO that only allows e-taxis to recharge, however Brighton and Hove CC published two TROs today to introduce such restrictions.
https://www.brighton-hove.gov.uk/curren ... ion-orders (found at the bottom of the page, because it sorts by oldest first...)
Plan, order
Looking at TSM Chapter 3 13.16.2 there are only two variations of charging point, "Electric Vehicle" and "Electric Motorcycles", although there are different ways to write them onto the sign. It addition it can specify other parking restrictions such as permit zones, max. times etc. - Basically "e-taxi recharging point only" isn't prescribed, nor is the "No stopping at any time except e-taxis")
However in the order it does define what is meant by "E-Taxi Vehicle"
Also I wonder what road markings it will have? Will it be marked like a 24/7 Taxi Rank. Will it say "TAXI" or "E-TAXI" on the ground?

Re: e-taxi recharging point only
Seems they have DFT signs authorisation.

So there must be somewhere in the country with them already!
Re: e-taxi recharging point only
I've seen a fair few in London, but none are yet on GSV.

Re: e-taxi recharging point only
There's one in Inverness here. The signage is rather confusing though - the road markings and "P" sign say "electric vehicles only" and the other sign says "no stopping except taxis", which does add up to "electric taxis only" but doesn't seem to be the clearest way of doing things. It's also confusing to mark a bay with both "P" and "no stopping" - it's a parking bay, but parking is prohibited?
Re: e-taxi recharging point only
Scotland issues its own sign authorisations, so don't expect anything to match what happens down in England!SteelCamel wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 13:11 There's one in Inverness here.
