After a quiet few weeks whilst I've been busy with life, work and everything - the
first batch of 1972 sheets is now up.
They are:
* Sheet 1 (Shetland - Yell and Unst) Revision A/
* Sheet 2 (Shetland - North Mainland) Revision A/
* Sheet 3 (Shetland - Lerwick) Revision A/
* Sheet 25 (Portree) Revision A//*
* Sheet 29 (Elgin) Revision A//
* Sheet 38 (Grantown and Cairngorm) Revision A//
* Sheet 46 (Loch Linnhe) Revision A///
* Sheet 47 (Glen Coe) Revision A//*
* Sheet 89 (Lancaster and Kendal) Revision B/*
* Sheet 91 (Ripon) Revision B/*/*
* Sheet 131 (Birmingham) Revision C/*
There's some nice highlights in that lot, including the first copies of sheets 1, 2 and 3 on SABRE Maps at any year, although only two revisions were ever published which gives us a good excuse! The georeferencing on sheet 2 is a little wonky, so needs a bit more work but I figured that people would be happiest at see now, fix later.
There's also chunks of the M6 appeared across Sheet 131, with the final section of the Midland Links just opened - indeed, the sheet actually says "open later in 1972" which is nice. It also includes the original layout of M6 J4 which ties in nicely with the thread on that over the last week or so. It's also good for seeing the Inner Ring Roads grow on the two cities in the area - Birmingham's is complete, whilst Wolverhampton's is around two thirds there; compared against the prior C revision from 1967.
Remember if you're using Internet Explorer, you won't be able to see the sheets, so try an alternative browser.
