On that I got a full map of the UK rather than just isolated sheets, but it looked to be from about 1960 and there were no different years to select!
Yes, I think there's a bug when using Internet Explorer. I've asked our development team to look at it, but as they're all volunteers I don't know when it will be solved.

Another map uploaded this morning, again with thanks to drm567.

It's Sheet 142 (Hereford) Revision B from 1967, so can be found in the usual place. Enjoy!

Just tried this and the different years show up in Edge but not on IE11. There was also some odd green and black glitching when I zoomed in close to Epping, but that seems to have cleared up.

Bits of the A40 under construction at Monmouth, including the tunnel. The (very short) tunnel route is not shown but the symbols for the portals are in place.

I'm trying to find in what year the OS first published 1" maps with a distinct symbol for dual carriageways. They originally used thicker black edge lines for the purpose. The oldest I've found so far on SABRE Maps is 1960 (in Bristol). This fits with my previous impression that the practice started about then. Has anyone noticed any examples in earlier years?

A month and a bit ago, I said...
Steven wrote: Sun Aug 05, 2018 18:41 Quite a number from 1970 today. They are:

[...]
Sheet 68 (Biggar, Moffat and Sanquhar) Revision B/
Sheet 70 (Jedburgh) Revision B/
Sheet 71 (Alnwick) Revision B/
In the meantime, no-one has actually noticed that these three maps were missing!

Having noticed that, it's now fixed and those maps are now visible. By way of apology, I've also added Sheet 34 (South Skye and Arisaig) Revision A//* from the same year.

Excellent, the OSM overlay comes in really handy for Scotland!

New one on the 1960 layer today. Thanks to drm567, it's Sheet 150 (Ipswich) Revision A/.

Now we have that one online, it reveals that the unknown version on the Seventh Series layer is actually Revision A from 1956, so that's been added to the 1956 layer as well as being annotated on the Seventh Series layer.

Spot the difference between those two is challenging! Minor formatting differences on the railwy so far...

There's not huge amounts I don't think - I got the difference between the revisions by the occasional station closure and the usual relabelling of some historic sites rather than huge changes in the obvious network. I am looking forward to see what people find!

New collection for everyone today - some maps from 1971.

They are:
Sheet 4 (Shetland Islands South Mainland) Revision A/
Sheet 45 (Sound of Mull) Revision A//*
Sheet 54 (Stirling) Revision A//*
Sheet 76 (Carlisle) Revision B/*/*
Sheet 82 (Keswick) Revision B/
Sheet 121 (Derby and Leicester) Revision B/*/*
Sheet 138/151 (Fishguard and Pembroke) Revision C/
Sheet 142 (Hereford) Revision B/

There's some serious bits of motorway now appearing - M1, M6, M9, M50 and my personal favourite, A46(M). There's also quite a few more minor changes all over the place on this one, and the first addition on SABRE Maps of an example of a Shetland Islands One-Inch map.

Let us know what you find on this lot!

We've got A648 (Kegworth - Nottingham) visible now that the M1 has been built.

Interestingly, going back to the previous version of Derby and Leicester, I hadn't realised that the A6 dual carriageway from Kegworth north west that is now the A50 (well, the westbound carraigeway) was dualled so early on, before the M1 arrive...

From the SABRE Wiki: A648 (Kegworth - Nottingham) :

The A648 was the original number of the road on the right bank of the River Trent from the M1 to Nottingham.

The road started at M1 J24; this interchange was originally only with the A6 but the A648 was built to it in 1969. It then headed northeastwards along wholly new-build road until it reached Clifton, where it
