One thing which I noticed on the Liverpool map is that Dunnings Bridge Road (now A5036) was then the A567 (T).
Further north, the A74 Gretna bypass is under construction, while the A74 dual carriageway appears to terminate at around the point where the northbound slip road from Gretna Green would now join the A74(M). There would also appear to be a short link road from the A74 dual carriageway to the old A74 just before the dual carriageway ends. Southbound traffic heading from Glasgow/Lockerbie towards Springfield/Longtown would have presumably left the dual carriageway there, but traffic from Longtown/Springfield heading north towards Lockerbie/Glasgow would either have had to use the old A74 single carriageway (which is still shown in red as A74) to join the new dual carriageway at Kirkpatrick Fleming or use what is now the B7076 through Gretna Green in order to join the dual carriageway A74. The B721 has a completely different alignment, passing to the north of Gretna and the A75 and terminating by the Old Blacksmith's Shop.
