The B1534 Bradwell by-Pass (A143-A12 link)

Post by roadphotos »

The B1534 is not on the SABRE Wiki, it was constructed a few years ago to link the A143 to the A12 near Gorleston-on-Sea, Norfolk. Also has this section of the A12 become the A47 yet.

Hmm... Strange, as we've talked about it. If you've got a spare few minutes, you can always add it to the Wiki yourself?
This guide is really helpful, and don't worry about any mistake as one of us can always come and fix them for you! :D

Feel free to ask for any help, if you need it!

I've added it - feel free to amend the page adding local knowledge - That's probably an easier first introduction to the wiki!

Cheers
Chris

Resigning works for the whole change began 16th of January and are due to last 12 weeks so "maybe?". Ask again in 2 months and the answer will be yes!

Does the A12 have to hand in its resignation and then work its notice?

Another interesting point is that very few up to date maps show this road as the B1534, they don't seem to realise that the road is a B road and they show the road as unclassified. Only A-Z maps and atlases correctly show the road as the B1534.

I'm not sure if it's officially referred to as the Bradwell bypass otherwise it would presumably have taken over the A143 number. However as things are at the moment it's definitely a better way of getting to Great Yarmouth than continuing on the A143 through Bradwell. Whether this will remain the case once the surrounding land is developed is another matter.

I actually referred to it as the Bradwell By-Pass because that's what it was posted up as when it was under construction. The sign at the A12 roundabout (now A47) at the eastern end of this road said Bradwell By-Pass with the planned completion date. One thing that I can't understand though is that the new road (the B1534) isn't signed at the A47 roundabout, it's only signed at it's western end at the A143.

Sorry for the delayed response. The County Council records have the official name of the B1534 as Beaufort Way.
