B2007, what route does it take ?
There now appears to be 2 separate roads with the B2007 number on the Isle of Sheppey. The OS shows the original route of the B2007 starting at the A249/A250 junction and heading through Queenborough and then rejoining the A249 further north but it also shows a seperate B2007 (Thomsett Way) starting further south at the A249 and heading over the railway and ending on Rushenden Road. Thomsett Way is signed as the B2007 at all of the roundabouts between the A249 and Rushenden Road but Rushenden Road itself isn't signed as part of the B2007 even though it would make sense to do so as this would join the 2 seperate B2007s to each other. The Wiki doesn't mention the newer part of the B2007 along Thomsett Way but OS mapping and local signage does confirm that it's part of the B2007 but it's separated from the rest of it. Also does anyone know if there are any plans to make Rushenden Road part of the B2007 to link it to the other B2007 at Queenborough because if the OS is correct the present arrangement doesn't seem to make any sense.

Possibly you're seeing a change to the route of the B2007 which isn't yet complete - possibly Rushenden Road will also be signposted as part of the B2007, and the length along Main Road might then lose its number.roadphotos wrote: ↑Sun Mar 07, 2021 12:53 There now appears to be 2 separate roads with the B2007 number on the Isle of Sheppey. Or possibly what you see on the ground is exactly what the local authority have decided to do, in which case it would be wise to remember the first rule of road numbering in the UK: road numbers do not have to make sense!

I've noticed, though, that generally, A and B roads are linear - yes, there are occasional spurs and branches, but in general this is not the case.
However, some of the convoluted trees of routes that make up some of the C roads are mindboggling - and (I don't know if this is general, or just a Hampshire thing) U-designated roads seem to cover a whole area (and not just one estate!)
