World's 'most complicated traffic junction' confuses Chinese motorists
Exactly what it says - this incredibly complicated junction in China is proving puzzling for drivers:

I'm not sure what you'd call it - does it remotely resemble anything seen in Europe?

You're probably right that there's nothing else like it, but it did remind me of this jumbled mess of a junction in Gateshead.

That junction is notorious and is in the CBRD Bad Junctions list. I believe for some moves, you pass a set of traffic lights twice !mapboy wrote:You're probably right that there's nothing else like it, but it did remind me of this jumbled mess of a junction in Gateshead.
The Swindon Magic-Roundabout is a bit daunting for strangers, too. Didn't the council offer to remove it but everybody said "please don't, we're used to it now"

It reminded me of this sort-of-roundabout just outside Maasdijk in the Netherlands, only huge and even more complicated.

That Chinese junction is basically what happens when you have too many cars in too small a space. Awful.

That's a Turbo Roundabout, a feature that is rapidly becoming more common in the Netherlands.lefthandedspanner wrote:It reminded me of this sort-of-roundabout just outside Maasdijk in the Netherlands, only huge and even more complicated.

Another impressively complicated Chinese interchange - a sort of “Spaghetti Junction in the sky”:

Is it signalised? Hard to tell from the pictures.

I got used to it very quickly. The rule is simple. When you approach the roundabout, aim for the exit that you wish to take. If you come to a "give way" line, check for traffic on your right. When it is clear, proceed to the next line making sure that when you pass any roundals, they are to your right and repeat the procedure.fras wrote: ↑Mon Oct 16, 2017 19:17That junction is notorious and is in the CBRD Bad Junctions list.
