I remember flying over Da-Nang in 1972 en route to Hong Hong from Johannesburg. There had been a refueling stop at Bangkok. AS we were flying over, the pilot announced that the Da-Nang airfield was at that time, the busiest airfield in the world (For those who cannot remember that far back, 1972 was the height if the Vietnam War and Da-Nang was the principal US airbase).

How things appear to have changed.
