E-Roads network diagram by Cameron Booth

I saw this E-route network diagram and thought of you lot. He talks through his design process here as to how he arrived at the layout

The suggested specification for the E-road network is interesting as it means most of the remaining long distance single carriageways across the continent will either have to be rebuilt to meet it or they'll be taken off the network.

Not that we take them seriously anyway.

I think in reality most will remain on the map as aspirations, much as some of the cross-sea connections are (some do have freight, mainly unaccompanied trailers, services). It is though just weird that officially the only western English channel route is Le Havre to Southampton, a route that doesn't exist, rather than Caen-Portsmouth, one that does (Le Havre-Portsmouth is currently suspended but was due to resume on the 31st of this month for freight)
