A572 and A579

Post by Nicholas »

I've recently discovered that the A579 Winwick Lane between Lowton and the M6 has lost its primary status, which also affects the short section of A572 in Lowton.

I've updated the Wiki text, but I don't know how to change the map, so could someone please edit these?

I've also noticed that the A572 map doesn't show the section within M60 J13 as being primary - could this also be changed?

It's an import from OpenStreetMap, so it needs to be changed there first, then traces imported to the Wiki by one of the SABRE development team.

I never understood why that bit was primary anyway given it's virtually a farm track.

Well it does cut the corner versus using M6 J23.

Not much quicker though - it's usually solid with people thinking it's a good road. It probably should be a B road - in 1922 it wasn't even classified.
