At least with the Cheltenham example, the arrow is – correctly – outside the patch, whereas this is definitely bodged as the arrows should not be included in the patches but on the background colour.

Ah yes, arrows inside patches... I have this example and this example that spring to mind.

Gah! On both those they got it right on one and wrong on the other within the same sign!traffic-light-man wrote: ↑Wed Nov 25, 2020 11:45 Ah yes, arrows inside patches... I have this example and this example that spring to mind.
The first is doubly wrong because, if the destinations are straight ahead and the road ahead is a primary route, there should be no patch at all, it should just be white text on green.

Whilst browsing GSV i found this monstrosity. Luckily it has since been replaced..

The capital letters look like adhesive ones you could buy in a hardware shop. Has some well meaning local made an impromptu repair?

That's hilarious!
I notice they haven't replaced the E on "Centre". I wonder if the store had run out of letter Es, it being the most commonly used letter in the English language?

They probably got them in the Sale.
That free parking sign looks somewhat 'improvised' too.

No, that's got the potential for a late night head on collision if ever I saw it...

Shows road ahead as a dual carriageway, when it isn't.
Also these bus lanes are really annoying since they are bus only and don't allow cyclists...

Re: Botched Roadsigns
This sign is only a few years old and replaced an older blue bordered version. However the A49 is primary here so surely would be green.
Therefore should look like this one at the same roundabout on the A5060

Basic errors apart, both of those could be made so much more compact.

What was "Warrington Walking Day" and why did it appear to end around lunchtime?

Left lane for M1 North, A61 and a road with a top secret number.
A6195 used to be both lanes. When the layout was changed the patch supplied was too small so rather than get a bigger one or some paint the brackets have been left for decorative effect. :

On another point I was looking a the A326 as Peter350 has posted a new dualing scheme for it.
and I found these!
Never seen it like that before, and I don't think it is right to do it like that either
two things wrong here Firstly the merging sign is incorrect, since signs like that can only be used at lane gains, not where there is only a merge. Also it has the "two way traffic" sign, which here is extreming misleading since its on a one-way slip road onto a dual carriageway, its only here to warn of two-way traffic ahead, however clearly common sense and judgement went out the window when erecting these signs. Plus not sure why part of the slip road is two-way, there are no accesses off of it and ends randomly
Surely this should be a no motor vehicle sign, not a no-entry.
