Great to see them still around. A bit of a clean and they'd look brand new!

This one i discovered recently heading out of the Winwick Quay business / industrial area back towards the A574/ A49. I'm pretty sure the area was developed in the mid 80's so could well date back to then.
I'm beginning to think that somebody at Warrington highways dept has a penchant for manky / old signs judging by how many are still around the town.

Another one not too far from me is this Warrington 'New Town' sign near Birchwood park. complete with wire dangling !

Eccles.. i have never seen so many decrepit warning/order signs in one area. The place was full of them. Here were a few that i captured.

Ellesmere Circle. Trafford Park. Looks like it may have lost a support at some point and is now attached to a lamp post.

It's quite common for signs to be mounted this way - why install a second pole when there's a light column in the right place?

It's alright until the column gets steel fatigue and then the sign behaves as a sail when it's windy... several columns have collapsed because of it.

It's now not advised to mount signs larger than 0.3sq.m to a lighting column - indeed some manufacturers void their 15 year warranty if you do!

I'd suspect a sign of this size wouldn't be suitable to hang from a lamp pole these days then. I'm surprised this one still is!

A couple of oldies in the Withington area of Manchester. The second one looks in reasonable condition however it looked about 100 years old from the back.

Not sure if anyone has posted this sign, but surely if you were to patch the sign to read A167M, you'd just replace the whole bloody thing given the state it is in...

Hi all

This is my first post after much lurking and, consequently, taking a good look out for interesting road features. I spotted a pair of these https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/B44 ... 599476b97b when out the other week. I did a search and couldn't find any mention of them on the forum.
How old are they likely to be?

I've spotted quite a few old signs so will post some more soon.

I'm using a Samsung tablet: I've noticed that the lat & long in the address bar doesn't change as I move along to the point that I want to be linked in Street View. Am I missing something obvious or is a "feature' of tablets?
