a thicket in which game can hide. Apparently

In Norwich we have Unthank Road. The origins of this is it's the road that led from Norwich to the nearby village of Ketteringham where the Unthank family lived. If you visit the village church the graveyard is full of them.

Time to give this one a dust off I think, as I've just found "Crooked Usage" in London, N3

Given the size of the houses, I wonder who acquired wealth here in shady ways?

Sir Titus Salt named the streets of Saltaire after members of the royal family and of his own.

This, inevitably, is every schoolboy's favourite.

The B9112 in Perth is called Necessity Brae - vital for getting up the hill, obviously.

A nice example of a road name, that appears to be a bit tautological. In the north of Hertfordshire is the hamlet of "Hare Street". Thus naturally the road between there and Buntingford is called "Hare Street Road"!

Make that ex Central Government War Headquarters.

It was decommissioned in 2005 and most of it is up for sale. The MOD do still have a presence there in the form of a computer data centre and cyber security centre with the fancy name of Defence Digital.

What is actually on Skynet Drive is Airbus Industries
