Saw these beauties on the B128 west of Aughnacloy today. They're so faded that they've actually become more visible since the Street View was taken!

My personal hate is the faded "end of lorry control signs" - I don't think this sign is a good design because it looks just like a faded NSL sign (especially if it is also faded!)
https://startsafety.uk/road-signs/perma ... -dia-622.2

A simple fix would have been to just have an 'Ends' plate below a regular restriction sign - just like 'end of clearway' uses this ... not sure why it was decided to make two quite similar signs with entirely different meanings.

(It's particularly bad - in my opinion - because these types of signs are typically found upon leaving a village, where you *might* expect an NSL.)

Not a faded 'end of lorry control' sign - nor even a road sign - but this https://maps.app.goo.gl/jzFJo6phTKaKTheq7 had a slightly similar effect on me the first couple of times that I drove past.

Very manky illuminated merge sign in M5-M2 junction in Belfast. Original 1980 sign? (then M5 to Rushpark officially opened)

Very good. I saw this manky merge sign today just off Lymm interchange at the M6/M56 slip. https://www.google.com/maps/@53.357047, ... 384!8i8192

Both good ones, Komi san and Rambo.

I don't recall seeing an internally-illuminated one before, I wonder if they are peculiar to NI?

That one is especially manky, Rambo, and it's a typical example of old (original to the road opening?) on one side flanked by a clean, current version. You have spotted quite a few good ones from that M56 - M53 - M6 area.

Looking worn out. I love the 'M1' patch, my guess is this sign predates the Bedford bypass/A421 (dualled in the early 2000's I believe). The patch was probably added once the bypass was completed as it was now a faster way to the M1. Previously the fastest route to the M1 would have been the A422 towards MK, I suspect.

Oldest M50 sign (and probably one of oldest in Ireland?)

This sign is performing a particularly useful function at the moment...

Trimming of vegetation around signs seems to be being neglected in all parts of the UK at the moment. Even a sign as huge as this

... is suffering; the view is from April this year, and it's only got worse since then.

I saw this today on the clockwise M25 approaching the junction with the M3. It's had over a year to become mankier since the streetview picture was taken.

Then heading north on the A449 shortly after leaving the M4 is this. The brown square in the top right hand corner formerly showed a picnic site, but I don't know what the black section in the middle was showing.

Coventry has a lot of patched mankiness. In this case underneath is probably A4023 (B4105).

From the SABRE Wiki: A4023 :

Today's A4023 is one of Redditch's new urban dual carriageways. The current route is completely different from that of the A4023's previous incarnation (and extension) within the town and beyond.

The A4023 starts on a roundabout with the B4160 (Redditch Ringway). Immediately heading East it passes under a grade-separated junction with the A441 to cross the River Arrow and meet another
