Although may not tick all the boxes of mankyness.. we love old school signs here don't we? plus it is a little faded.. and the back side of it definately qualifies as manky if you saw it! While i was in the area today i captured those just off M58 jct 3 at the roundabout with the A570. The others were posted by Traffic Light man a few months ago but this one was on the road from Skem. Probably dates back to the opening of the motorway in 1980?

Potentially original to the M58 opening, so 42 years!

And another old school sign at the same junction.

Further up the A570 towards Ormskirk is this oldish blue border attached to a new post.

Manky finger post captured along the A5147 last week. I like the fact that long distance destinations are blue border too.

Keeping the theme of Rambo's previous photo, here's another blue-bordered multi-finger post. The signs themselves are obviously old but the shiny metal bands would suggest that they have been reattached in the recent past:

They are double-sided but this - very faded and manky - side is completely hidden by trees. I suspect that the signs have been rotated on the post somehow or were misplaced when they were reattached.:

This isn't manky as such but the green patches just look completely wrong as if the sign is quite old. It's a favourite of mine anyway.

That one is pretty filthy. Just being old is not manky.

Perhaps you could change the title of the thread as i’ve suggested a number of times in the past to include all obsolete/manky etc. Or a separate thread.?

I’m not going through 65 pages of this thread splitting manky and old
