That one is pretty filthy. Just being old is not manky.
Perhaps you could change the title of the thread as i’ve suggested a number of times in the past to include all obsolete/manky etc. Or a separate thread.?
I’m not going through 65 pages of this thread splitting manky and old
I'm not suggesting that. but quite a lot of old / obsolete fall into the manky catagory and members like to post a bit of both. So your original post came across as a little flippant to me with the insinuation that a lot of images posted here are not welcome or interesting.

Patience is not a virtue - it's a concept invented by the dozy beggars who are unable to think quickly enough.

Saw this in a car park in Yeovil.

A very odd sign, which says
Caution
Avoid Petrol Spillage
& Fire Risk
Please
Park your Vehicle
with the filler cap on
the higher side
Make poetry history.

IMHO "manky" can encompass many things including dirty, faded, discoloured and worn.

8-) Wyaston has a satisfying combination of all of those.

A game of hangman to complete the sign?

One that I posted quite a while ago as a Streetview link but have managed to take a photo, showing it's still there in all its manky gloriousness:

This one is just down the road from the sign in my previous photo and has been posted by someone else but I thought it's always worth keeping an eye on what's still about:

A nice display of mank in Tideswell, and not terribly useful either, but does have a fine statue to guard it.

Speaking of brown tourist signs, I saw this one recently - the sign doesn't look old at all apart from the brown patch!

This one that I pass regularly is in the "too many modifications" category of mankiness. It's reached a point where it's getting hard to work out which blocks of text belong together and which words belong to which phrases.

Clean new sign for the side road, so why weren't the dirty browning signs to Bakewell and Monyash replaced as well?

Fairly grubby but also of an unusally-large size:
