Re: Manky Signs
Found another ancient bus direction sign in Bournemouth yesterday - in Poole Road. I wonder how long it's been there?

Nice signs in Middleton by Youlgreave. Fortunately the well dressings were much prettier.

Re: Manky Signs
Another for Kevin Roads. This one at Abergele is getting a bit long in the tooth complete with big A55 patches https://www.google.com/maps/@53.2842669 ... 384!8i8192 but sadly i've not been able to capture it (yet)
It's another one of those large old school signs looking a bit out of place along a (now) 30mph road.

A somewhat long-in-the tooth sign spotted here in Peterborough
Also an honourable mention for the suspiciously out of date primary route sign for the A15

Re: Manky Signs
Two absolute corkers I saw around Newcastle this weekend. The first looks like VERY early Worboys with the typeface of the road right!

Re: Manky Signs
A couple of blue borders in Northwich. Probably just need a bit of a clean. All installed in Oct 1989. I only know this because the date is stamped on the back of them.

Re: Manky Signs
Used to see this regularly on the A22 at Forest Row in Sussex, I took the picture a couple of weeks ago and strangely enough the sign was removed just a few days later. It was definitely 'manky'!
Re: Manky Signs
Speaking of the Peterborough Highways, I'm sure I saw at one point there was a really dodgy fork sign from around there (might have been on "Show Me A Sign") but spent some time last night looking at the oldest possible Google Maps images from the area (2009) and couldn't find the one on question. IIRC was at junction 3 and the junction number wasn't even in the black box? Would love to see it again!

https://goo.gl/maps/sGVvujW2gu3XkKdQ8 - this one? The coverplates fell off. The J3 panel is in the wrong place and not correctly drawn.James1978 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 07, 2022 07:24 Speaking of the Peterborough Highways, I'm sure I saw at one point there was a really dodgy fork sign from around there (might have been on "Show Me A Sign") but spent some time last night looking at the oldest possible Google Maps images from the area (2009) and couldn't find the one on question. Re: Manky Signs
Possibly but not sure, I may have had the junction number wrong. I can recall seeing a picture of a sign where the junction number wasn't even in a black box, it was just a white number on the green background! But maybe I'm mistaken.Bryn666 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 07, 2022 10:32https://goo.gl/maps/sGVvujW2gu3XkKdQ8 - this one? The coverplates fell off. Re: Manky Signs
Managed to bag a few today. Another (I posted a similar one a while ago) elderly sign warning of elderly people:

Re: Manky Signs
This could also maybe go in the 'Rare Signs' as the @cheesecake man mentioned that there aren't many length-only limits around compared to height or width:

Re: Manky Signs
Finally, a classically-manky old internally-illuminated sign, with surface growth for extra mank:
