A bridge in North Carolina is being raised by 8 inches.

I wonder if it would have been easier to lower the road.

Lowering the road is not possible because of sewer pipes etc. under the road surface. It's only being raised 8 inches, so will continue to catch out the unwary... just fewer of them.

The webcams are staying to see if any more over height vehicles are caught out.
