The C188 starts on the A803 in Bishopbriggs town centre and heads east along Springfield Road. It is initially two-way, to provide access to a delivery yard, but soon reduces to one-way westbound as it squeezes under the railway. The road remains one-way as far as the junction with Muir Street, from where it continues east, curving north east onto Menteith Avenue. This then comes to an end on Woodhill Road, which is apparently unclassified.
