City of Wolverhampton Council manage a total of 133 km of Class I, II and III roads, covering the urban core of the city of Wolverhampton, though not the outskirts of the built-up area, or the entire historic boundaries of the city.
About 100 yards of A449 at the northern edge of the council area is the only Trunk road managed by National Highways within the boundaries of the city council area, although the boundary itself runs along the southern highway boundary of the roundabout at M54 junction 2 and the A4510.
The following Primary Destinations are within the boundaries of the council area:
As stated above, the only Trunk road within the city council boundaries is the aforementioned short section of A449 in the extreme edge of the local authority area. This appears to be a relic of a boundary change in the 1990s, as the responsibility change is at the northern local authority boundary as it stood in 1991.

The local authority is responsible for the maintenance of all junctions within its boundary.
