The A38 Derby Junctions project aims to grade separate three important junctions on the A38 near Derby.
Work will be carried out on the Kingsway Roundabout, the Markeaton Island and the Little Eaton Roundabout. Kingsway will become a dumbbell junction, and the other two will become grade-separated roundabouts.
History
Work to grade separate these junctions had been planned for many years, however the project suffered from continual cuts and re-announcements.
In June 2013, it was announced that funding had become available to carry out the work. A public consultation ran during February and March 2015, and later that year traffic surveys and modelling were carried out. As of March 2016, environmental surveys are ongoing, and a ground investigation is due to begin soon.
