This article is about the road in Amblecote near Stourbridge.
For a later road, also numbered A4102, in South Wales, see A4102 (Merthyr Tydfil).

The A4102 is a short link road in Amblecote that allows east to west traffic on the A461 to carry straight on without having to travel on the A491. The road is entirely one-way so the west to east traffic must use the two-way parallel A461.
Quite why this road isn't the A461 itself, or at least a spur of it, is something of a mystery.
History
The 1922 Road Lists allocated to what is now the A4102 the classification B4181, describing it as Link at Dennis Park joining A461 and A449 (the A449 here was renumbered A491 in 1935). The road was upgraded to Class I status and received its present number in April 1925.
