The A5206 forms an access to Lichfield from the A38 southern bypass of the city. It was originally part of the A446 but gained its current number in the 1970s when the A38 was rerouted along part of the A446 as part of its bypass of Sutton Coldfield.
The road starts at Swinfen Interchange where it meets the A38 and A5148 which continues along the southern bypass. We head north along London Road, initially across open fields but the road soon becomes built-up. It's not long before we bend to the right and end at traffic lights on the A51, where that road TOTSOs. Continue straight ahead for the city centre.
