The A549 is a short road running east of Mold in Flintshire.
It begins at a roundabout on the A494 Mold southeastern bypass, although originally it started in the centre of town; the A541 which is also met here has taken over the original western end of the A549.
We head east along a single carriageway, passing to the south of Mynydd Isa, then through the middle of Buckley, where there is a short relief road avoiding the town centre, and pass the end of the B5127 towards Connah's Quay. We then cross a railway before arriving at a roundabout on the A550, a few hundred yards south of the A55 J55, where the road ends.
The A549 used to continue straight ahead along a route now severed by the A55, before passing through Broughton and ending on the original route of the A55 more-or-less where Broughton roundabout is now. The building of the A55 bypass cut back the A549 to its current terminus.
