|Route outline (key)|
It starts at a fork on the A670 to the north of Mossley and heads roughly north. It passes through the hamlet of Quick and the Saddleworth village of Lydgate. Lydgate is a typical tiny Pennine village affair - one with a few dotted houses but seemingly a huge church, graveyard and pub. The road here can often bare the brunt of some huge drifts during the Winter. Once through the village we arrive at a crossroads on the A669. The road straight on is even busier than the A6050 itself, however it is unclassified and continues for about 1.5 miles until it connects to the A62 in Scouthead.
