Abercanaid Roundabout is an at-grade roundabout on the A470 Cardiff - Merthyr dual carriageway, mainly serving the industrial areas of south Merthyr and the Merthyr Eastern Bypass for the eastwards Heads of the Valleys Road.
History
The junction opened from the south on 4 November 1985 with just the exit to the east to Pentrebach (Merthyr Tydfil). The Merthyr Tydfill Western Bypass northwards opened 8 November 1996 (per Hansard of 5 July 2005).
