Faenol Interchange forms Junction 24 of the A55. It was partially built in 1969 as part of the Abergele bypass, and completed in 1981 as part of the East of Abergele scheme. This included realignment of Rhuddlan Road (the original A55, which became A547) to enter the roundabout from the east. Its original entry from the south-east conflicted with the new on-slip.
