Annagh Cross is a rural location on the R347 in County Galway, the site of a former crossroads between the N63 and R347.
For safety reasons, the route of the southern (R347) leg was shifted several years ago to meet the N63 at a location 60 metres east of the cross. Then, with the opening of the M17 in 2017, the N63 was rerouted to follow a new-build alignment running from Annagh Hill Interchange – one kilometre south-west of Annagh Cross – to a roundabout on the old route 320 metres east of the cross.
The new motorway having severed the old route of the N63, the western leg of the former cross is now a 900-metre-long cul de sac providing vehicular access to local properties and Annagh Hill National School only.
