Archway is a former gyratory on the A1 in Upper Holloway. Work starting in February 2016, the western side of the gyratory was pedestrianised, sending traffic around the southern and eastern sides in a series of signalised junctions.
The A1 north of here is on a 19th century bypass of Highgate, built to avoid the hill.
