Layout of the junction

Armley Interchange was a planned junction that would have been built as part of a continuous dual carriageway from Armley Gyratory to the edge of Bradford and would have replaced a section of single carriageway and traffic lights that currently exist. The present junction represents a bottleneck on an otherwise high quality route between the two cities. It is thought this bottleneck results in some traffic preferring to use the M62 rather than the A647.
