Aros Bridge carries the A848 across the Aros River on the Isle of Mull. The current road bridge is a single span concrete arch clad in stone and with stone parapets. The parapets step out over the abutments to form pedestrian refuges, a feature common on many bridges built in the late 1930s by Argyll County Council. The roadway across the bridge is, however, only single track, and feels quite narrow when crossing. This bridge replaces the older bridge which still stands a short way downstream. It is believed to date from 1790 when the road along the east coast of Mull was first built. It is certainly mentioned by a traveller in c1799/1803 as being the only substantial bridge encountered on Mull, but other similar bridges also survive along the east coast.
