The B1019 is part of the shortest route from Maldon to the A12.
It starts on the B1137 in Hatfield Peverel. This road is the old A12 and access to that road northbound at junction 20B is only a few yards away (to head south, go through the village to junction 20A).
The B1019 heads out of town in a vaguely southeasterly direction. It zigzags across the fields before meeting a straight(ish) section which ends in Langford. The road crosses the River Blackwater and the canal in quick succession before ending by the church at the point where the northbound B1018 TOTSOs right.
