The B1023 is a B-road in east Essex, connecting the A12 with the coastal marshes.
It starts on the B1024 (former A12) on the edge of Kelvedon and heads out of town to the southeast, soon crossing the A12 bypass. In Tiptree, it crosses the B1022 between adjacent mini-roundabouts before continuing on to cross the B1026 in Tolleshunt D'Arcy.
Now heading roughly east, the B1023 enters Tollesbury along the southern of the two roads that reach the village. It goes along the High Street and East Street before ending without ceremony at a fork. Neither of these two roads leaves the village.
