The B1048 is a short link road in the western suburbs of St Neots.
Most maps claim that the road starts at a mini-roundabout on the original line of the A1 which connects to the southbound slip roads of the current bypass. The B1048 heads north along a short stretch of the Great North Road to meet the B645 (former A45) at a full-size roundabout; that road bears left to reach the A1's northbound slip roads whilst the B1048 turns right to head into town.
After passing a golf course the road bears right to avoid the River Great Ouse. We head south, with houses on the right and open space on the left, before the end of the road at a roundabout on the B1428. Turn left to cross the river to reach the town centre.
