This article is about the original B1059, now B1508.

The original B1059 ran from Colchester to Sudbury on the Essex-Suffolk border. The road was an alternative to the A134 which also followed that route and which it met at both ends. It followed a slightly more westerly route to the A-road through such villages as Wormingford and Bures.
The B1059 was quickly upgraded to an extension of the A133. However, it has since been downgraded again and is now part of the B1508.
