This article is about the current B106 in North London. For the original B106, now part of the A107, see B106 (Stamford Hill).
Alexandra Park Road
The B106 is a short B-road in north London. The road was originally unclassified but seems to have gained its present number around 1930, making it an early example of a recycled number.
The route starts at traffic lights on the B550 Muswell Hill and heads northeastwards along Alexandra Park Road. We descend through the residential area until, just after passing a short row of shops, Alexandra Park Road bears off to the right and the B106 continues ahead along Albert Road.
Soon we reach Albert Road Recreation Ground on the left; here Albert Road bears off to the right and the B106 continues ahead along Durnsford Road. There is a gap in the houses as we go over the mouth of a tunnel on the East Coast Main Line, after which we continue on to traffic lights on the A109 by Bounds Green tube station. The B106 continues ahead and heads northwards along Brownlow Road. It's not long before we reach traffic lights on the A406 North Circular, where the B106 ends. The road ahead is unclassified although it is signposted as the A1004.
