The route of the B1072 was described in the 1922 Road Lists as Holbrook Hall - Monks Eleigh - Bileston [sic].
In 1935 the road was renumbered as part of the much longer B1115. The original multiplex with the B1070 through Monks Eleigh is now a multiplex with the A1141.
