The B1178 was a short B-road through Spalding.
It started on the A16 (now B1172) London Road on the bank of the River Welland. It headed west along Welland Road, then north along St Thomas's Road to end on the B1175 (now A151) Winsover Road.
The road retained Class II status until at least the 1990s although the B1178 number must have disappeared when the present B1178 came into being around 1940; it is possible this road became an extension of the B1356. The road has now been declassified, possibly when the A16 bypass was built in the 2000s.
