For the original B1187 north of Gainsborough, see B1187 (Beckingham - Crowle).
The B1187 is a rural B-road in the Cambridgeshire Fens. The road was originally unclassified but had gained its number by 1932.
For many years the road started on the A47 High Road in Guyhirn. However this junction was remodelled when the new A47 bridge over the River Nene was built and so a new link road was opened so that the B1187 still met the A47. The road therefore starts slightly to the west of its original southern end and heads north to reach a T-junction on the original B1187, where it TOTSOs left.
The road continues northwestwards through Guyhirn Gull, following a flat, largely straight route. The road soon skirts the western edge of Murrow then runs alongside the North Level Drain for a few hundred yards into Parson Drove. It ends here at a TOTSO on the B1166.
