The A1039 (former B1260) looking towards Filey
The B1260 was the original number of the road leading into Filey from the direction of Scarborough.
It started on the A165 on the eastern edge of Gristhorpe before heading into town along Scarborough Road. It ended in the centre of Filey end-on on the B1259.
In the early 1920s it was decided that Filey needed a link to the Class I road network and so both the B1259 and B1260 were renumbered as an eastern extension of the A1039.
