The B1436 is a reasonably short B-road in north Norfolk. The road was originally unclassified, gaining its number in the mid-1930s before being extended to its current length by the late 1940s.
The road starts on the A149 to the north of Thorpe Market and heads west across the fields, passing a small wood on the left. The road soon reaches Roughton (the first syllable rhymes with 'cow') and a T-junction on the A140.
There's a short multiplex north to a mini-roundabout, where the B1436 turns left at its original eastern end to regain its number. We climb through the outskirts of the village, which seem to go on for some distance and then bear left to enter Felbrigg. After skirting the Great Wood the road ends at a roundabout on the A148.
